International standards
Internation standards recommend calibrating force and torque measuring instruments at least once a year. Intensive use or internal company regulations may require more frequent calibration or verification. Com-Ten industries and Andilog Technologies have a fully equipped laboratory capable of providing rapid turnaround times for the calibration of your force and torque measuring instruments.
We use several calibration methods depending on your instrument:
- Force 1 to 200 lbs: Comparison with deadweights
- Force 500 to 10,000 lbs: Comparison with reference load cell
- Torque up to 1500 lbin: Comparison with deadweight on a lever arm
All of our standards (deadweights and reference load cells) are periodically inspected by a NIST or COFRAC-accredited laboratory.
The various calibration programs offered
Regardless of the program chosen, all our calibrations include a complete examination of your instrument before performing a measurement reading or adjustment. For Andilog and Com-Ten brand instruments, if repairs are necessary or recommended, an additional estimate will be issued and submitted for your approval before any work is carried out. The calibration results are provided with a certificate of calibration that shows the measurements values and the measurement error.
Manufacturer's Program:
(Only for Andilog brand instruments) 3 preloads, then 5 readings in tension and compression after adjusting the measuring device.
As found and extended program:
3 preloads, then 3 measurement readings at 10 points (2 for increasing forces and 1 for decreasing forces) in tension and compression, distributed between 10% and 100% of the measuring range. An adjustment of the instrument can be performed retrospectively if requested or if the device is outside the manufacturer's tolerances. This adjustment is subject to a separate quote.
Additional Services:
Declaration of Conformity:
Indication on the calibration certificate of the instrument's compliance status with the manufacturer's specifications. Special or Additional Points: Special or additional points can be added to the above programs and are subject to a separate quote after verification of technical feasibility.
